Also, please be informed that the registration for the Pilipinas Cycling League - TOUR OF CLARK is now officially open. Registration is P2,500.00 for 2days with FREE Buffet lunch per day. (Saturday = P1,500 and then Sunday = P1,000) Payments can be forwarded to Tess/ Richard Uy of TOL Bike Cafe


Deadline for registration is strictly March 6, 2011. No onsite and late registration will be entertained. Please USE THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION FORM. Entries submitted not following the registration form will not be accepted.



Race Details:

March 12 and 13, 2011

Venue: Clark Freeport, Pampanga

3 Stages:

Day #1 (Saturday)

- 1st stage - 47.4km TTT (2loops for Masters, Exec A and B) = (23.7km - 1loop for Female and Juniors)

- 2nd stage - 63km Circuit Race (6loops for Masters, Exec A and B) = (42.4km - 4loops for Female and Juniors)



Day #2 (Sunday)

- 3rd stage - 118.5km Road Race (5loops for Masters, Exec A and B) = (71.1km - 3loops for Female and Juniors)

the last fifth rider is patay to the maxx...
aerobic ride lang daw siya

2nd stage eh nagbreakaway siya from the gun for 50km
na bridgean afterwards ng apat then naka 4th place siya.

3rd stage eh bunch sprint mga top 20 daw. same time

Friday, March 11, 8pm

sobrang masaya kami ni Look Bomba dahil maaga ang pamasko na natanggap namin
from our sponsor/manager. we got rudy project items like RP wingspan aero
helmet, RP road helmet, RP rydon shades with extra multilaser lens, and RP gloves.
parang mas lalo kami na-excite na kumarera



sa sobrang excitement ko, hindi ako makatulog at 330am pa lang e nagising na ako.

Saturday, March 12

nung bumangon ako ng 4am, nagising na rin pala si lookbomba pero hindi pa agad sya bumangon
we were supposed to be flagged off at 8:08am pero nagkaroon ng delay for an hour so around 9:08 na
kami pinakawalan. 8th team kami na ni-release.

9am, 47.2kms TTT (2 x 23.6kms) total 30 teams (cat A)

we started with 8 men only at the starting line. ung 9th man namin ay napunta sa master's cat dahil
ex-national team handicap na agad sa amin.

lalo kami sinuwerte dahi after 5kms, na-drop un 2 riders namin due to some mechanical trouble
we were left with 6-men only. pero on the 7-km mark, tinuhog na agad namin un team which was flagged
off one -minute ahead of us ( which later on got 13th place out of 30 teams). we were still motivated to
finish it strong .

lalo kaming sinuwerte dahil, coming into the halfway mark, na-flat ung isang rider namin. since hindi pwede
na sumunod ung back-up vehicle, wala kaming choice kundi iwan sya. 5-men remaining. by this time, nag-usap
kami na nobody should be dropped otherwise magiging DNF ung team namin kung walang 5th man.
after completing the 1st loop, our 5th man was already struggling. *he die olredi. from there on, survival mode
na lang sya.

but luck was really on our side, dahil coming into the last 1.5-km ako naman ang biglang nag-bonk. meron kase akong
ginawa (na hindi dapat ginagawa during the race or just before the race). all of a sudden halos hindi ko na ma-push
ung pedals ko. buti na lang at nakita ako ni look bomba and he was motivating me to push on



to sum it up, we finshed 9th out of 30 teams. not good but really not bad considering our very "likely" fate. isang
team lang ang tumuhog sa amin who eventually got 1st place.

Saturday, March 12, 2pm, Stage 3, 62.4km criterium (6x10.4km)

though i had a 2-hr rest / quick recovery from the TTT earlier, i can feel my legs almost starting to cramp.
lesson learned: don't take gel/s during the race especially if you are not used to it.

7-men started from our team. look bomba started to break away after the first lap (neutral zone).
as he had instructed us earlier, we did all we can do to execute our game plan. he stayed clear for most part
of the race. there were a lot of attacks coming in from different directions. 3 guys from our team were at the
front checking most of the attacks. i was staying near the front and will sprint and check those who were coming
from out of nowhere and who would suddenly surge, if the 3 guys cannot check/block them. his lead almost reached
40 secs. finally there was a 4-men chasing group on the last lap who was able to bridge to him.

coming in to the last 2-km, i recalled what michel said "don't give up until you cross the line, otherwise talo ka na agad kahit hindi pa tapos ung karera"

look bomba got 4th place on this stage. i was with the peloton for the bunch sprint. with the 2km mark to go, the pace started to increase to about 55kph, the road was slightly declined though. then came the u-turn. we slowed down a bit. we were cornering at around 30-35kph. it was too scary. 750m to go, the road suddenly turned to a false flat. riders started standing up to pick up speed again. 300m to go, i can see the line coming closer. i was in at about 20th position that time. i know i wouldnt take it, so i was just trying to finish strong. i can see the line coming in closer. until there was a near crash 3 bikes in front of me. he was from geo-state team, a friend of mine - miguel cervantes. someone went in from his right side. we can hear the carbon brakes screeching, and i saw his bike at almost 45 degree angle trying to maintain his balance. i started to freewheel and thanking GOD that no accident happened to us. that was the scariest sprint finish i was with. i managed to finish 44th out of 94 finishers (with 124 starters) after a lot of people came to pass me.

so many lessons learned, so many things to improve :bounce: :bounce:

nabasa ko sa ibang forum eh 48kph daw ang average sa stage 2. LUFET!
so si michel and party tumakas ng mga 50kph? (i dnt think so)
