Wang Jiaxiong, a BMX hotshot from Shaanxi, participated in this stunt, which was organized by local authorities in Tianjin. Unfortunately, he did not survive the attempt. The first indication that something had gone horribly wrong, was when he got halfway over the wall and realized his bike was about ten feet away from him.



Shortly afterward, it must have occurred to him that the landing was probably not going to be very comfortable.



As you can see here, Wang had seen to his personal safety by equipping himself in top-notch protective gear, including what looks like a $15 street-helmet, and a spandex biker shirt. (In a previous photo, you can also tell he's using a top-of-the-line hardtail bicycle)



Additionally, Wang's stunt organizers provided him with top-notch professional onsite medical staff to treat him or get him to a hospital in case of an accident.



Unfortunately, despite their valiant efforts, and care with regard to his potentially serious spinal injuries, they were not able to save his life. RIP
