WOOOT!
2. strength training kailangan talaga kundi injury labas
heres my numbers: time 57min 53sec, 170bpm average, negative split run @ 5km mark 30min 10sec
kaya dapat yan 175 to 180bpm kaso natakot ako ma injure.
Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
Wag kalimutan ang asin for long runs to avoid sodium depletion otherwise you'll end up with terrible cramps...

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
Actually, si makoy ang naka pace sa 4hrs pacers hinabol ko lang sila, but shortly after i caught up with them, nalaglag ako sa grupo dahil pinulikat na ako sa tabi ng daan hehehe.. . my hydration/gel intake was well planned and the pace was ok too. I've avoided 100 plus kasi baka kabagin ako sa soda but thats my mistake. I should've taken it too. wala kasi ng non carb so, I''ve ended with less sodium in my body resulting to cramps. though may not be necessarily the cause. Or, probably should have done more long runs during training. Combination of both is the best...

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
Yan yung mga kailangan ko/ namin... More training tips, training plan, nutritional info before and during race lalo na base sa sexperience...
Kung me tips po kayo mga bossing for a duathlon, kindly post sa kabilang topic/thread.
Appreciate all your info... Thanks thanks.
For long distance run, i really need more time in training plus loose more 5kg or more.
Kaya next year max ko eh half marathon muna then more saddle time since me weekday buddies na ko that ride regularly.
Basta ang alam ko ang lulufet nyo, even fafi ryan can do 58 min sa 10k with very less training eh ang best ko dun eh 1:03 ata.

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
5mins late lang pala ako sa start.... hmmmmm
i score a little well against the opposite sex
bagal parin, next time ayusin natn
good negative split
nicol high MRT palang ako nung natapos yung babae
Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011

Regarding the training plan.... hmmmm... meron ba?
I have a monster endurance thru cycling and that is the card that I brought during the marathon...
Which is ofcourse not enough... I could had performed better on the 2nd half of the race if I have enough training mileage on my legs...

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
lol pangit pacing mo positive split.......
bka naka sub4hrs ka kung negative split yan
fast start then fade
did u pace urself with a HRM?
kung steady yung HRM zones mo eh kulang ang endurance mo. di pa monster
masyadong nagdrift yung cardiac mo

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
My first 11K is fast kasi I was trying to compensate yung possible timing loss ko due to heavy congestion of runners which appears I over compensate pala...
The second 11K & 3rd 11K, is together with the 4:00 pacers kaya there's a big drift sa speed ko, yung sa 3rd 11K eh nag-pa-iwan ako before 26K due to chest pain - kaya nag-slow down ako...
Last 11K, eh kasama na yung tinatamad due demoralization after na naiwan ng 4:00 pacer's group...
I never realized that my HR is too high kasi di naman ako hiningal, I can see high numbers sa monitor ko pero akala ko may problema lang sya...
But after 2:30 hrs of continuous running, I had felt some chest pain so I have to take it seriously very serious things happens...
My ave HR:
First 10 KM --> 179 BPM
2nd 10 KM --> 182 BPM
3rd 10 KM --> 175 BPM
4th 10 KM --> 163 BPM
Last 2KM --> 171 BPM
Aver HR ---> 173 BPM

maganda yan at may baseline kna 173bpm <- diyan ka nalang next time sa next marathon mo.
first 10km 168-173. then settle ka (170bpm to 175) last 5km 175bpm or depends sau
anyways congrats :D have fun under the sun
ako yung nka white cap blue shirt and black jogging pants :D

Hindi nga dre, chest pain during long run? yup really, we have to be serious about it. that's why it got me curious on "stress test" to know whether my heart can take it, on long runs b4 i started doing long runs. Went to National Heart Center for stress test. They took ecg of my heart prior to the test at saka pinatakbo ako sa treadmill with 7 stages, if I remembered it right. Prior to the test the nurse warned me that so far no one has reached stage 7 yet, among those who ran on that treadmill. Didnt tell her outright that I can beat it . Sa madaling sabi pinatakbo ako simula mabagal, then gradually pabilis and had inclined the gradient simultaneously between stages. Come 6 stage, nurse is grinning, me making every effort to beat the stage. But, the doc did not let me finish the final stage, no wonder no one has ever beaten it. Doc said " We've got the data we want, no point finishing it, aint a race.. . The doc called me up after few days..said ""ok no problem"".. In short, it gives me some peace of mind whether my heart will always listen to me or rather I should listen to him... stumbled upon this site,, its a good read bro's...

Re: Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2011
Actually twice ko nang na-experience yan...
First is last year during cycling and second time last Sunday...
It happens kung my ave HR is more than 180 for 1 hour and by experience I know how to make it disappear also...
Never go above 175BPM...
That's what I did...
